Flip Flip Bang Bang was officially started on June 26th 2019, two days before the release of Transformers TCG Wave 3 aka War for Cybertron: Siege I. Much of the format was up in the air, though settled into two articles a week – a ‘deck build’ article, and a actual play write up article. That lasted until October when I realised that writing two articles a week was an insane thing to do and scraped the actual play write ups.
This page collects everything written during the Wave 3 period.
The debut project for Flip Flip Bang Bang, before a general structure was established. As such this project is a little bit scrappy compared to some of the later projects. I’m in absolutely no rush to play Elita-1 again, she’s a hard character to play.

The second project for Flip Flip Bang Bang. It produced a couple of decks, including Mission Trion which somehow took first place in a local tournament. I really enjoy this character and still play Mission Trion a lot.

The third project for Flip Flip Bang Bang, and was chosen by a vote on the Flip Flip Bang Bang facebook page (beating Wave 2 Skywarp). It ended up being a four part project and a tournament report. Captain Ironhide is a really fun and interesting character that I hope gets more play as the game goes on.

A one-and-done specialist deck. The article gives a core draw deck and an insane use for it. It was mostly a break article as Ironhide was going on for a very long time, and I was away from home for the weekend doing TFNation 2019. The core draw deck would be very useful with the Wave 4 battle card Daring Escape.
Building Ratchet: Autopsy
Weekend Casual: Ratchet and Energon Open
The UK Energon Open season happened in late August over a series of ‘Trial’ events. I judged the Brighton trial, where the prize was two byes for the UK Energon Open tournament in mid-September. I was also the floor judge for the main tournament itself. These two articles are mostly quick reports and pictures from the events.

The fourth (proper) project, and was chosen via a public vote on the Flip Flip Bang Bang Twitter (beating Sergeant Skywarp and Nightstick. I’ll write about Skywarp one day). It is a three part project. The project outlines ideas for using Starscream in an anti-Bugs deck, that can sideboard into a two-tall deck for dealing with Aerialbots. I kind of wish I played this deck more, it was fun.

The fifth and final project of Wave 3, as decided by the Transformers Trading Card Game facebook group (narrowly beating Wave 2 Springer). As of 20/10/19, the project is still ongoing. Cover art by Emily Stewart.
